Stimulus funding helps get NOAA project off the ground

From the ION GNSS 2009 Conference in Savannah, Georgia, Hemisphere GPS unveiled the XF102 DGPS receiver Wednesday. The XF102 is the latest addition to Hemisphere GPS’ XF-Series of DGPS receivers for handheld mapping. Hemisphere GPS’ XF102 is designed for professional GIS applications and surveying, and is specifically designed to work with the TDS Nomad handheld GIS data-collection device.

Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) NovAtel has introduced the SPAN-MPPC at ION GNSS 2009 in Savannah, Georgia. The SPAN-MPPC provides the processing power of the company’s SPAN (Synchronous Position, Attitude and Navigation) engine, the SPAN-SE, in a card-stack form factor that can be integrated into a wide range of navigation applications, NovAtel said.

Second Day Summary of CGSIC meeting at ION GNSS 2009 conference

The second day’s (Tuesday) agenda had parallel tracks.

In the morning session, I had a choice between the International track and the U.S. States and Localities track (USSLS). I spent most of my time in the latter (including presenting a paper) with the exception of the QZSS presentation in the International track.

In the afternoon session, I had a choice between the Timing track and the Surveying, Mapping, and Geosciences track. I chose the latter.
